Raider Families, Tomorrow is our first day of transportation. We've had several late registrants this year, so please understand that route times may be plus or minus the time given by a few minutes. Here are 3 reminders. 1. If you need to call for a transportation change, we'll only be able to do so if we know before 1:30 PM. 2. Per CDC we have to require masking on buses. Please know that it will be enforced. 3. Thank you for your patience as we work out kinks on our first day. Loading and unloading (especially the little ones) always takes a bit longer the first few days. This will improve as students learn where to go. Thank you for your support and encouragement this year, Dr. Todd Hellrigel

District Wide If your student uses an inhaler, or an epi-pen, has a food or other allergy that requires medical treatment at school, An Allergy / Asthma Action plan needs to be filled out by the attending physician and sent to school for each current school year. (not needed for mild / occasional seasonal allergies) If your student will be taking a prescription medication at school, a Medication Authorization form will need to be filled out by the parent /guardian and physician then sent to the appropriate school. If your student will participate in a sport, A sports physical will need to be renewed yearly. If you are a new student enrolling for the first time in an Illinois school a current physical, immunizations, dental and an eye exam will be required. Please contact the appropriate school for your student with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you sincerely in advance for your cooperation! Densie Richardson LPN

Message from the Principal: Good Evening, As we get close to the start of the year, I wanted to reach out and extend a 2021-2022 school year WELCOME BACK to all MCHS students and families. I am Don Lazarz, the new high school principal. I’ve attached a letter of introduction that includes my focus and thoughts on how we can best serve students this year. I’m excited and humbled to accept this responsibility and meet the needs of our students and community. A few notes for your reference: • Masks must be worn while on school transportation or in school buildings. We will provide students with organized opportunities to take mask breaks and see each other in a way that adheres to guidelines for use. We’ll address accidental and intentional mask issues in a reasonable and progressive manner. See the district plan for more detail. • Our schedule will generally return to its historic pattern. There will not be an A/B/C lunch, but rather the traditional A/B - Lunch/Study Hall pattern. • Physical education will return to dressing and participation with modifications that respect the use of masks. • Students are allowed to carry schoolbags and clear bottles/sealable cups containing water. Students were respectful of this modification last year and we plan to continue granting this liberty. • Students are allowed to bring their own devices for use at school. Students must understand that each teacher may have different rules in their classroom for acceptable use. • Freshmen are often filled with anxiety, but we commit time to their orientation and have a plan to ensure their successful integration. Every student will be treated with dignity and integrity; this will be instilled at every level. • Some classes already have pre-determined supply lists, but most teachers will communicate what students will need on the first day. I recommend a few notebooks, pens, and pencils to get started. • DOWNLOAD our APP! Check your app store for “Midwest Central CUSD 191.” Here, we continually update our calendar, post our handbook, other documents, and much more. Can’t wait to get the school year started! Thanks, and have a great weekend!
